Email, or electronic mail has replaced the usage of common mail used to be sent by postman, they is because email can reach the recipients faster than common mail and it costs cheaper. People even can send to many people at once at the relatively same costs with if people send email to only one recipient. The other thing that support the usage of email is the widely spread of internet connection so that now even people located in the remotest place in the world can access internet.

but, not all of the role of common mail replaced by email with its advantages because there are still something that cannot sent by email like bill for your credit card, or notification that you are accepted to work in certain company. Those two examples are the type of mail that is rarely sent by email. From the fact we can conclude that we still need what we called by mailboxes.

The function of mail boxes is to put the letter or mail sent to our address, or it can also functioned to put the letter we want to sent to another address so that the postman will take the letter from that and get it delivered. Nowadays, even the development of mailboxes is still in progress, they even have many types of mailboxes like commercial mailboxes which can be used in large commercial area.
